Click Here For Past News Updates Deadly Update: Spring Time March 10, 2001 Hey everyone! Once again it's been a little while since the last news update. And with all that has been going on, it's about time, don't you think? There are a number of things I could cover, but I have one main focus of this update, and that is to catch everyone up on the current storylines!! In the midst of it all, it's easy to get confused when reading the results of the events, trying to remember who is feuding with who and what history wrestlers have with each other. No fear, however, I (the fearless DWFOnline Webmaster) am here to sort it all out for you. Even though My Bloody Valentine has already been taped and Only Happy When It Rains is just around the corner, this update will be concentrating on the events up through Snow Day, which results have just been posted for. Expect another Deadly Update in about 2 weeks, either right before or right after the Chris Holland Memorial Show. Even in that short span of time, I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about by then. The Congregation is finally whole... or is that holy? Since Lord Fairrington's debut into the DWF, he's made it obvious that his mission was to rid the DWF of it's unholy vermin and enact a new morality upon us all. At first he didn't sound all that threatening, after all he used to be known as Drinky the Drunk Guy! But this rehabilitated drunk and born-again Christian has wasted no time making his impact upon the DWF. Quickly taking Mr. Sunday and Twisted under his wing, he completed his group at Snow Day with the addition of Angel De Mourte (now known as Angel De Morality... or so we're told.) Calling themselves the "Congregation", they quickly caught everyone's eye with their rambling (and often very comedic) interviews and promos. Up until Snow Day they hadn't been able to back their words all the easily, not having the best of luck in the ring. Things appear to be looking up, however. At Snow Day we witnessed Twisted gain his first win ever against Angel in a great match that led up to Angel's joining the Congregation, and Mr. Sunday defeated Skulleosus in just 90 seconds!!! These guys may seem a big joke at first glance, but now 4 members strong and a clear vision of what they hope to achieve, look for them to surprise some people in how far they may actually get! Who was that with the creepy music? Following up on the Congregation, we witnessed quite a strange occurrence at Snow Day. Shortly after Angel announced his alignment, a haunting theme began playing over the loudspeakers of the DWF arena, and Lord Fairrington sent Angel to investigate. Minutes later Angel was found laid out! Who was it? Well, I can't comment any further at the moment, however I can assure you he will be revealed at My Bloody Valentine. The Status of Rocky There's not much I can say at this point, however look for a big announcement by Soilent at My Bloody Valentine. Rocky has been absent as of late, supposedly abandoning his friend and his role as commissioner and leaving the DWF, heading off to Alaska. More to develop on this, but be warned, the news is not good. Is the name "Main Event" going to James Green's head? It's no secret as of late that James Green thinks quite highly of himself. Having formed a slight friendship w/ Rocky just before his departure, James quickly tried carrying that friendship over to Soilent. Soilent, however, didn't take as kindly to the Main Event as Rocky had. After getting along shakily at Wrestling on Ice, Soilent sent James the card for Snow Day for him to announce at the top of the show. When he announced the card, however, James was upset to find that Soilent hadn't given him the matches he wanted. Soilent himself would be in the World Title match against Tybolt, and instead of James facing Rich for the Q.C. title, it would be Lord Fairington?! After reading that his opponent for the evening would be Pitfighter, James stormed off. A few minutes later, James Green approached Snake Fight in the back, and began ranting on about how the DWF catered only to the established stars. He then suggested that he and Snake Fight joined forces! Even later in the show, (after losing to Pitfighter, who now gets a shot at the Q.C. title) Green approached Stardust, getting in his face about how Stardust wasn't the man Green used to look up to, and how he had lost the fire. He then challenged Stardust to an Iron Man Match!! Finally, at the end of the show James Green cost Soilent his chance at regaining the title, laying out both him and Tybolt and causing the match to be ruled a No Contest. Folks, it's evident James Green is doing all he can to get everyone's attention. And if you think he's caused enough trouble already, just wait until My Bloody Valentine, where we find out just exactly what he's been up to all along! Snake Fight Truly is the One Man Army! Congratulations are in order for Snake Fight after an impressive showing up in Oshkosh, WI several weeks ago. Snake Fight wrestled twice in the show, scoring a HUGE upset over Psycho Rob HIMSELF!!! Later in the show he was beaten by the 500 lb. James "Thunder" Nourse, but not without putting up a great showing, even managing to suplex the big man!!! A Time of Confusion for Soilent Times have been rough for Soilent lately. Between losing the title to Tybolt and having Rocky disappear on him, Soilent seems unable to regain his sense of direction. Not knowing who (if anyone) to trust and for the time being having to accept the reins as Commissioner, it will be interesting to see how Soilent handles the upcoming dates. However, he has managed to stay in contention for the title, putting up a strong showing in a rematch at Snow Day before an interference from James Green resulted in a No Contest. Expect Soilent to stay in contention for the title at least up through the Chris Holland Memorial Show on March 24th in Oshkosh. At that show Soilent will be facing Pitfighter, in a match that is over 3 years in the making! Never having faced each other one on one, that match should be a classic. Should Soilent (or Pitfighter, for that matter) be able to capture the title be4 that date, the match will be for the belt. If not, it will be for the #1 contendership. Let's just hope Soilent realizes how important that match is, and is mentally and physically ready for the volatile Pitfighter. Stardust loses pF World Title Shortly after defeating Snake Fight, albeit somewhat uncertainly at Snow Day, Stardust lost the Psycho Fed World Title to James "Thunder" Nourse up in Oshkosh. We commend Stardust on his lengthy and successful reign as pF champ, as he certainly proved he deserved it. From here on out, the question is what Stardust will set his sights on next? It's no surprise he's been distracted since Papa Fly left the DWF. Maybe that distress even contributed to his losing the belt. In any case, we can assure you that there are major developments in store from My Bloody Valentine and his iron man match w/ James Green. Not surprisingly, Stardust is not one to stay down for long. That about covers it for now. As mentioned before, I will be back in the coming weeks to recap the remaining events through March, and to preview the future. However, don't be surprised if the DWF has been changed forever by that time, for who knows what's going to happen next! Thanx for reading, -DWF Webmaster
