January 10-15, 2001

Rocky announced there would be a tournament to decide who the #1 contender would be for the title, but not until after he placed the belt back on Soilent Green!!!  He claimed that Papa Fly's doctors hadn't cleared him for action, and thus he had to make the "tough" decision to put the belt back on his best friend, Soilent.  The brackets and results of the tournament are shown below.

Round 1:

*Tybolt vs. Skulleosus - This match was given a stipulation, thus becoming the rematch to last years infamous "Groin Shot Death Match"!!  Tybolt wins the match quickly, and advances in the tournament.

* Lord Fairington vs. Angel of Death - Lord Fairington comes out and claimed that a match between the 2 of them wasn't necessary, and invites Angel to join the Congregation.  Angel declined, saying how he preferred Rally and her guns. However, Angel didn't know where Rally was at that moment. He told the camera he woke up that morning to find Rally gone from her bed and her guns missing, in what can only be called a very disturbing segment from this strange character. The match got underway, with Farington keeping the upperhand for most of match.  After any particularly effective moves (such as the sitting headlock or his patented armbar), he'd once again ask Angel to join the Congregation, only to have Angel respond with a heartfelt "Never!". In the end Fairington nailed the Hail Mary and prevailed in the match, only to reach into his coat and pull out none other than Rally herself!!! He ran off with Angel's comic love interest, leaving Angel crying frozen tears into the snow.

* Rocky Relentless vs. Mr. Sunday- This match lasted all of 10 seconds. Mr. Sunday began giving us a sermon on how Lord Fairrington was going to become the new world champion, only to but crushed by Rocky on the back of the next with a Kendo Stick, rendering him unconscious. .  After the easy pin, Rocky walked off, and Mr. Sunday groggily proclaimed that he didn't matter, and now he could concentrate on helping Lrd. Fairrington.

* James Green vs. Little James- This match came as a result of Rocky and Green forming a bit of a mutual respect -type friendship at the beginning of the show, due to the fact that Rocky wanted to help Green through the tournament.  Nothing worth mentioning in the match as it was a Little James match, so what did you expect?  However, the "Main Event" did unveil his new finisher, the "Developmental Deal", a spinning pedigree.

* Twisted vs. Divine Diamond Storm  -This match never actually happened, as Twisted never showed up.  Later we found out that he and fellow "Congregation" members Lord Fairington and Mr. Sunday were praying for Fairington's success in the tournament.  ..Don't ask us, folks, we just report what happens.  We don't quite know what to make of the Congregation as of yet.

* Stardust vs. Rebock - Stardust got the forfeit b/c we learned that Rebock was not in town.  In fact, we heard that he was at the final round tryouts for the XFL!!!! We're not sure what is going to happen there, but in any case, best of luck to him!

* Ultimo Movie Man vs. Pitfighter - Ultimo Movie Man cut a promo telling us how he came all the way from spending Xmas with his family in France just to face his old nemesis, Pitfighter.  He complained a bit about the wintery weather of Iowa, and asked us to consider "Canadia"...wherever that is.  After that a pumped up and dred-locked Pitfighter made his entrance and the match was on.  Unfortunately the DWF camera's had a hard time adjusting to the brutal winter conditions, but it was still evident that the match was a brutal one.  The past these two have became evident early, as they spared no mercy in pummeling each other with anything that was available to them.  One highlight saw Pitfighter toss Ultimo into the frozen steel slide like a rag doll, the slide making a sickening noise as it buckled under the pressure.  Soon after Pitfighter soon found his head buried in a snow bank after a excellent stalling DDT.  When it was all said and done the match went easily to the 15 minute mark, which given the conditions proved to be a test of endurance for both men.  Pitfighter was able to muster up enough strength to get Movie Man up for the Tombstone, and scored the 1,2,3.  After the pin, James Green ran out and attacked the Pitfighter, trying to gain an advantage for their second round match.

Round 2:

*Rocky Relentless vs. "Divine" Diamond Storm- Soilent comes out with Rocky, stating that he will be the special ref for the match.  The match was a well contested one, although Rocky maintained the upper hand for the majority.  Soilent played a part in that, however, on several occasions tripping up Storm or attacking him from behind just as he was gaining the upper hand.  The end came when Rocky set Storm up for the Relent to Repent, but mid-move he injured his back. However, he still managed to turn the move into a vicious Samoan Drop, leaving Storm laying prone on the ground.  Soilent, not giving Storm a chance to recover, picked up Storm for a massive Absolute Carnage, and Rocky rolled on top for the pin.

*Directly after the match Rocky and Soilent began beating on Storm, and was soon joined by James Green, who took his own shots at the unconscious superstar.  Rocky leaned down face to face to Storm and publicly FIRED him from the DWF!!! They 3 of them walked of camera laughing, with Soilent warning the camera "That's what happens when you mess with us!"

* Tybolt Lemur vs. Lord Fairington the 3rd - This match was a good one, as Tybolt and Fairington are arguably the two most entertaining men in the DWF.  His Lordship started the match with a promo about his suspicions of underlying homosexuality in the DWF (where does this guy get these ideas of his?) and even went so far as to blatantly accuse Soilent Green!!!  Tybolt got things back on track however, and quickly gained the upper hand.  Not too much to note here, except that Fairington spent most of the match screaming at the top of his lungs.  Just when it looked as if Tybolt had the match wrapped up, Fairington began yelling "Fore", and Mr. Sunday and Twisted ran out to his aid.  They weren't of much help, however, as Tybolt managed to execute the "Bum's Rush" onto all 3 of the Congregation members and score the pinfall.

*Stardust vs. Rich Reckless -pF Cruiserweight Title Match - This was a well fought match that could have easily gone to either contender. Highlights include a Crippler Crossface onto a chair, and Rich taking off Stardust's jacket and pulling his shirt up over his head to give him a massive suplex bare-backed into the snow!! To top it off was the overall intensity of the match, with Stardust delivering a handful of VERY stiff forearm shots to win.  In the end Rich was able to slap on the crossface once more, and Stardust tapped out!! Reckless is now a dual champion!

*Pitfighter vs. James Green - There's not too much to say about this match, although the promo Pitfighter cut be4 hand was just plain frightening.  The match was a massive brawl-fest, and these two really took it to each other.  I wouldn't be surprised to see this feud continue in the near future.  A suprising ending, and the "Main Event" got the clean win over the Pitfighter.

Bonus Match:

"Main Event" James Green vs Snake Fight -Midwestern Backyard Heritage Title - In a special challenge issued by Snake Fight, Green put up the belt that he has held exclusively since it was created.  A very cool match, it was easily one of the best during the tournament. (Even though not part of the tournament). Highlights include a killer tornado DDT by James Green and a japanese armdrag by the big man Snake Fight. The match ended with Snake Fight unleashing an awesome Iconoclasm, a reverse crucifix bomb into a falcon arrow!!! This of course resulted in an easy pin, and the "One Man Army" Snake Fight is our new MBH Champion!!!

Round 3:

*Tybolt Lemur vs James Green - Actually, this match never happened!!! James Green's match with Jake was going on at the same time he was supposed to be fighting Tybolt at the other DWF Arena... and as a result he missed the match!  He was disqualified from the tournament, and Tybolt advanced to the finals!!!

* Rich Reckless vs Rocky Relentless -This match automatically had a ton of heat built up for it, as these two have been bitter rivals for quite some time, but haven't had the time to settle the score.  This match had a lot of action in it, as these two went all out on each other.  Highlights include Reckless throwing Rocky head first into a tree, some nice chain combinations at the beginning, and some big power moves by Rocky.  All of these paled in comparison, however, to the move that ended the match.  Rocky picked Reckless up HIGH for a chokeslam, and just drove him straight down through an upturned recycling bin laying on the ground.  Folks, we just can't do this move justice by describing it, but seeing the velocity with which Rocky slammed Rich down, and seeing Rich's back hit that bin and having his body almost folded in half backwards, it is already a very early contender for the 2001 bump of the year.   Needless to say that was enough for Rich, as Rocky got the easy pin.

Finals:

*Tybolt Lemur vs Rocky Relentless - Soilent once again came down with Rocky and proclaimed himself the referee for the match.  Rocky took the advantage early, using a STOP sign to plant Tybolt into the ground.  Tybolt managed some offense, as well, and would have been a very even match-up, but of course Soilent found a way to interfere whenever Tybolt gained the upper hand.  Rocky spent most of the match trying to end it early, looking for that one crushing blow that Tybolt couldn't recover from.  He put him up for several power moves including another awesome Samoan drop and the duo once again unleashing their Sidewalk Slam/Elbow Hammer combination., and tossed him into the side of the garage, only to follow it up by flattening him against it with a vicious chair shot that left Tybolt very rattled.  Instead of going for the win right there, however, Rocky and Soilent wasted a lot of time discussing what finishers they should give him.  Went they went in for the final attack, Tybolt easily had enough time to recover, and lunged at both men.  Soilent came from behind and set Tybolt up for the Absolute Carnage, but Tybolt countered out of it!!! Not only did he counter out of it, he turned it into a Bum's Rush onto the recycle bin!! Tybolt got up to find himself in the clutches of Rocky, only to counter yet again and deliver a Bum's Rush onto the stop sign!! Tybolt went for the pin and the 1-2-3 just as Soilent tried to grab his foot!   Tybolt Lemur won the tournament!!!! An angered Rocky got up and declared that if Tybolt wanted his title shot, he was going to get it right that moment!! Soilent gave Rocky a perplexed look, but Rocky assured him that Tybolt wouldn't be able to beat him as beaten as he was and walked out.   Soilent looked after Rocky for a moment, but quickly got his focus back to the celebrating Tybolt.

*DWF Title Match: Tybolt Lemur vs (c) Soilent Green

Tybolt went straight for Soilent, looking for an early advantage.  Soilent countered with a series of vicious forearm smashes to Tybolt's back, not relenting until Tybolt was on the ground.  The match was a very close one, as both men were already very tired, and obviously the Bum's Rush had taken a lot more out of Soilent than Rocky thought it had.  The match went close to 10 minutes, however, as they battled for the title. In fact, Tybolt went so far as to grab the belt a couple of times and nail Soilent with it, attempting to render him unconscious. Soilent's power soon began working to his advantage, however, as he began getting the best of Tybolt. He picked Tybolt up and set him up for the Greener Pastures, as to avoid having the Carnage countered once again.  This time proved no more effective than the first time, however, as Tybolt delivered a shot to Soilent's sternum, doubling him over.  This set Tybolt up easily for the Bum's Rush once again, and he nailed it!!  Tybolt got the pin!  Tybolt Lemur is the new DWF World Champion!!! Stardust, Rich Reckless, and Snake Fight came out to congratulate Tybolt as Soilent groggily got to his feet.  Rocky than came out and told them that they would all pay, and that they wouldn't allow this to happen.  Soilent looked a little confused, but managed to warn Tybolt that they would meet again very soon before walking off camera.  Tybolt, Stardust, Rich, and Snake Fight continued to celebrate as cameras went off the air.
